Retail Therapy in the Central City

Movie Night

Snuggle into your seat and enjoy a movie with good friends. Christchurch has some great (and slightly different) cinema experiences. Check  out EntX for the ultimate movie going experience with extreme screens and epic candy bar!For the boutique experience go to Alice  Cinematheque & Deluxe Cinema and enjoy a wine and a cheese board during the movie!

Night Sky

The night sky in the Southern Hemisphere is breathtaking. In winter the early, dark, clear nights are perfect to observe the stars. The view  from the Godley Head Reserve or Sugarloaf is stunning, avoiding the light pollution of the city.

HOT TIP! Due to light pollution it’s worth taking the time to drive further out of the city for an uninterrupted view. The Canterbury  Astronomical Society run informative star gazing sessions in West Melton.

He Puna Taimoana

The only place in the country where you can watch wintery waves while soaking in a hot pool. New Brighton is Christchurch’s original beach  destination, boasts one of the best hot pool facilities in New Zealand. The perfect way to spend a winters afternoon. Sit back, relax and enjoy  the view!

Christchurch Nightlife

Spend your winter evenings at rooftop bars and underground speakeasies, raging dancefloors with live music, cocktails and crafties.  Whatever your poison, you’ll find it in the bustling CBD of New Zealand’s second largest city.
