Long before them, Māori navigated these same waters in waka, portaging across to the  Kumeū River to reach the wild west coast – knowledge passed down through generations.

Today, The Riverhead continues to welcome travellers, locals, and explorers alike – but with a touch more comfort. The awardwinning Landing Restaurant serves a refined menu of seasonal dishes and a thoughtfully curated wine list, all enjoyed with peaceful views across the  harbour.
