Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Wairarapa Music in the Country continues to draw thousands to the historic, tree-clad grounds of Tauherenikau Racing and Event Centre in Featherston. Running from Friday, January 10th through Sunday, January 12th, the festival promises an unforgettable experience with top-tier musicians.
Matthew Sherry, Wairarapa Racing Club General Manager, expressed his excitement about the event, highlighting the exceptional caliber of the artists. “We are thrilled to showcase New Zealand’s most iconic musicians alongside rising stars. This year’s lineup features some of the finest talent in the country,” he said.
The festival boasts an impressive seventeen-act line-up of multiaward-winning musicians with distinguished careers nationally and internationally. To name a few, the lineup includes The Waratahs, Dolly Parton Experience, Sisters in Country (Jodi Vaughan, Aly Cook, and Wendy Thornton), Jackie Bristow, Matt Joe Gow, James Ray, and Saddle Up Sisters (Steffany Beck and Miranda Eastern).“We are incredibly fortunate to have such remarkable talent coming together for our enjoyment,” Sherry added.
The festival offers opportunities for everyone to participate. Visiting and emerging musicians can showcase their talents during popular walk- up sessions. Family-friendly activities include a line-dance class and oversized games like Connect Four, Hoopla, Jenga, and Noughts and Crosses.
Ticket prices are budget-friendly, with free admission for children aged 15 and under, a three-day pass at $65, and a day pass at $40.
Accommodation packages are available for self-contained motorhomes, caravans, and tents.
