Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park and Motel

Summer still beckons

As the masses head back to work but the late summer days still beckon. Those in the know – or unrestricted by school term dates – head off to New Zealand’s holiday parks for an altogether calmer experience than the high peak season.

Nelson’s Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park basks in high-sunshine hours, offers stunning natural environments and a feast of things to do. Located behind the popular Tāhunanui Beach, the Park spans almost 22 hectares along 1km of coastline.

Accommodation options include contemporary motel units, cosy cabins with shared facilities, and hundreds of powered or nonpowered sites for campervans, caravans and tents.

The Holiday Park welcomes pets in a designated camping zone from 1 February to 30 November, acknowledging how important it is for  regular travellers to have their furry family members with them. The beach fronting this zone is also dog-friendly, as is the Park’s on-site café. The Park offers several playground areas, a giant bouncing pillow, mini golf, petanque, pedal-karts, mega swing and a tandem flying fox on  site, while attractions such as Pro-Karts, Natureland Zoo, trampolining and roller skating, and several dining options are within easy walking distance.

Just seven minutes away is Nelson’s city centre with additional attractions and superb retail options as well as the Book Waimārama Eco  Sanctuary, the region’s Museum and many art galleries. Water sports naturally abound in the Nelson Tasman region from stand-up paddle  boarding, kayaking and kite surfing, to sailing and fishing. The region also has a reputation for excellent mountain bike trails as well as cycling options including the Great Taste Trail. Many visitors travel with their own bikes, and the Holiday Park is happy to store bikes  securely and offers a bike maintenance hub, as well as cycle hire on-site. Enjoy the simplicity of a holiday park for your next break.
